Jewelry Care Guide
Care guide
Caring for your gemstones
Your piece is made with genuine natural stones, finished by hand. With a little everyday care it will stay beautiful for years — here is everything you need to know.
The golden rules
Five simple habits that keep natural stones, leather and plating looking their best.
Keep it dry
Take your jewelry off before showering, swimming, the sauna or washing up. Natural stones and leather do not love prolonged water.
Last on, first off
Put your piece on after perfume, lotion, sunscreen and hairspray — and take it off first. These dull stones and plating fastest.
Avoid chemicals
Keep away from household cleaners, chlorine and salt water. Skip jewelry dips and ultrasonic cleaners — they damage natural stones.
Store it safely
Keep each piece separate in its pouch or box so stones and clasps do not scratch one another.
Out of harsh sun
Some stones can fade in long, direct sunlight. Store yours in a cool, shaded place when you are not wearing it.
Wipe after wear
A quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth after each wear removes skin oils and keeps the shine.
Know your stones
Some natural stones are softer or more porous than others. When in doubt, keep it dry and chemical-free.
Extra gentle — keep dry
Wipe with a dry cloth only; never soak. Keep well away from water, perfume and lotion.
Turquoise, Amazonite, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Selenite, Moonstone, Rhodochrosite, Pearl, Pyrite. (Selenite can dissolve in water.)
Hardier — still no chemicals
More durable, but they still prefer to stay away from chemicals and long soaks.
Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Tiger's Eye, Onyx, Agate, Jasper, Aventurine.
Care by material
Choose what you are wearing for the right routine.
Leather wrap bracelets
- Keep the leather dry — remove before showering, swimming or the sauna.
- If it gets wet, pat dry with a soft cloth and let it air-dry flat, away from direct heat.
- Avoid bending the leather sharply; wrap it gently around your wrist.
- The leather softens and develops a natural patina over time — that is part of its character.
Beaded & elastic bracelets
- Roll the bracelet on and off gently rather than pulling hard, so the elastic stays springy for years.
- Avoid soaking — moisture can weaken the cord over time.
- Store it flat and relaxed, not stretched around a tight surface.
- Wipe the beads with a soft, dry cloth to keep them clear.
Gemstone watch bands
- Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
- Remove before workouts, showering and swimming to protect the stones and the finish.
- Keep away from sweat, lotion and perfume, which build up over time.
- Check the connection pins occasionally to make sure the band sits securely.
Gold- & silver-tone plating
- Clasps and charms are plated for shine — keep them dry and away from perfume, lotion and cleaning products.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.
- Never use polishing dips or abrasive cloths — they strip the plating.
- Store separately so the plating does not rub against other pieces.
Cleaning step by step
Gentle is always best. A minute of care goes a long way.
After wearing, wipe the stones and metal with a soft, dry cloth to remove skin oils.
For a deeper clean, lightly dampen the cloth with plain water only — never submerge or soak the piece.
Dry thoroughly straight away, paying extra attention to leather, cord and clasps.
Skip soap, jewelry cleaners, ultrasonic machines and chemicals — they damage natural stones and plating.
Cleansing & recharging your crystals
Many people like to refresh the energy of their stones now and then. These are gentle, stone-safe ways to do it.
Moonlight
Rest your piece on a windowsill overnight, ideally under a full moon.
Smoke
Pass it briefly through the smoke of sage or palo santo.
Selenite or clear quartz
Lay it on a selenite plate or beside a clear quartz point.
Sound & intention
Use a singing bowl, or simply hold it and set a quiet intention.
